- One night in 2015 when I lived in St. Paul I was on my way home from work when I passed the Midway Wendy's. They had this written on their readerboard: STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOR A LIMITED TIME.
It's one of my favorite fast food billboards I've seen, second only to the time my friend accidentally wrote HAPPY 23TH BIRTHDAY KAYLA on the readerboard of the small-town DQ we both once worked at.
I think Wendy's intended to advertise a milkshake. But in my heart they were advertising the transience of life.
Ever since I saw the sign, I've wanted to paint it. Me, a person who is terrible at painting.
Well, I finally painted it. After a decade, here is my magnum opus:

- I have an ongoing conversation with several friends about the state of jeans in 2025. Obviously ridiculous barrel-leg jeans aside, I don't get wide leg jeans at all. And why are they all cropped?
My main problem is: what shoes are we wearing with those? Specifically, what boots? If the jeans are cropped, and the boots are ankle-length, how do my ankles stay warm? I live in Minnesota; my entire day could be ruined by bare ankles.
Maybe this is my millennialism coming out, but I think skinny jeans are better for multiple reasons, not least of which being that you can easily tuck them into boots.
- On the subject of clothing, I love a good novelty sweater. I've collected several via thrift stores in the past few months. I also love browsing for Michael Simon sweaters on eBay. I may have accidentally on purpose bought a Michael Simon Halloween sweater this past week.
I try not to buy holiday sweaters since they're so specific. But consumerism latches its claws into all of us from time to time. Plus, it's the end of the world so why shouldn't I?
- Speaking of the end of the world, this obviously factors into my decision of whether to procreate. It seems like a logical decision not to, given the state of everything. And yet...

- And on the subject of deeply personal topics, I constantly grapple with what to share on this website. On the one hand, this is my internet living room and I want to speak freely. On the other hand, the internet is forever and I do I really need to tell people my thoughts on politics or childbearing or whatever else?
If you are a person who posts on the internet, how do you decide what to share?
