I like the idea of blinkies, buttons, badges, and other digital pieces of flair. They’re great ways to express yourself on the internet without using too many words.
But I don’t always love the aesthetic. I, too, feel nostalgic for the late 90s/early 00s. But it’s 2025, and we’re never going back. So what’s the next step in personal website flair?
There are a million potential answers to this question. This page is my answer.
Below, find my collection of ribbons that I handmade IRL out of felt and beads. Some feature common phrases found on the blinkies of old. Others feature phrases that I selected on my own.
I propose using these ribbons alongside or in place of the old-school style flashing buttons. Feel free to save them and use ‘em on your own website!
