Chameleon Plate
Notes: My husband loves looking at the chameleons when we go to the pet store. We're never going to get a chameleon if I can help it (I only want mammals in our house), but I agree they are cool.
So I couldn't not buy this plate when I spotted it at Savers. It's originally from Anthropologie, part of a line of dishware that has many other fun patterns. If I found more, I would buy them.
I mainly use this as a cake plate for 6-inch cakes.

Dairy Queen Shakers
Notes: My first job was at DQ, and I worked there for a long time. Many fun and terrible memories of sweating to death in that store. I don't know if it's inspired by that experience, but I have a small collection of ice cream-themed kitchen decor. It's cute, and I like it.
I found these in a bag of junk at Savers. The vanilla cone's curl is broken, but I don't mind.

Georgia Art
Notes: Another Savers junk bag find. This thing is small, only a couple of inches square, but it's a nicely done original painting - a rare find at the thrift store.
It's signed Tom. On the back, there's a piece of tape that says: Savannah, GA 1.30.99. I've never been there, but it looks like a lovely place.

Miss Priss Cookie Jar
Notes: Shortly after my mom died, I made the long trek up to the Wisconsin cornfield where my grandma lives. On the way, decided to stop at my favorite thrift store.
There, nestled among a line of plastic 90s kitchen appliances with missing parts, was Miss Priss.
Into my basket she went. A white whale caught at last. An impossible dream finally realized. I've never even seen Miss Priss in an antique store, so I was beyond chuffed to find her for $14.99 at my favorite thrift store.
Her lid has been glued back together, but it doesn't bother me. I would love to add more Miss Priss items to my collection one day, but I doubt I'll be able to thrift them.

Ikea Lykta Lamp
Notes: Just a fun Ikea lamp from the mid-2000s. I'd been on the hunt for one in any color and found it at the worst Goodwill on planet earth.

Glass Candies
Notes: I'd been wanting some blown glass candies for a long time. But they are expensive, and my budget is not big for items so pointless. Lucky me, I found some at the thrift store.

Drinkin' Cups
Notes: I love the floral design on these cocktail glasses. I don't drink many cocktails, but these are fun to use when I do. They seem to be hard to find online, so I assume $1.99 each at Savers was a good price.

Fire & Light Bowl
Notes: Fire & Light is a now-defunct company that sold recycled glass dishes in super fun colors.
One day at Savers, I found a treasure trove of it: 4 salad plates, 4 dinner plates, 4 bowls, 2 wine glasses, and a large bowl.
Regrettably, I sold most of it to help fund my trip to New Zealand. But I held onto this big purple bowl. I love it.

Pigeon Forge Pottery Vase
Notes: Starting in 1946, Pigeon Forge Pottery operated for over 50 years in Tennessee near the Great Smokey Mountains.
As someone who enjoys both pottery and Appalachian history, I was happy to find this little vase. It's signed by Betty Smelcer, a potter who was with the company in the late 40s and again throughout the 70s.
