Navi's Story

"Navi was a cat that no one wanted."

These are the words that accompanied Navi's listing on the cat rescue web page. Here's what we know of her story:

Navi's previous humans locked her in a garage and refused to let her inside despite her pleas.

Eventually, she found her way outside, where she gave birth to at least one litter before being rescued.

My husband and I immediately inquired about her, and found ourselves 30th in line. Once unwanted, Navi was now the most wanted kitty in Minneapolis.

My husband had a 90-minute phone call with the rescue owner, in which they discussed U.S. politics, work, local businesses, and many other non-cat-related topics.

In essence, he sweet-talked the owner into bumping us to first in line. We met Navi the next day.

She came to us skittish and underfed, her ruff a shadow of its current, voluminous self. Since then, she has grown into a confident, playful cat with a sassy yet sweet personality.

Her fun personality and beauty queen looks make it hard to believe that she was once a stray. We love her.
