Notes: After being discouraged that a previous attempt at colorwork socks wouldn't go over my heel, I was hesitant to start these. But they're ice cream cones, so I knew that at some point I needed to figure it out.
My first attempt was not great. The colorwork section was still too tight, the result of me pulling my loose ends too hard. I started another one, this time with a plan in mind. First, I would chill out on pulling things so tightly. Second, I would learn ladderback jacquard. I'm so glad I learned it! It helps with stretch so much, and now I feel much more confident to start other colorwork projects.
It took me a while to finish these. After the colorwork section, the socks felt endless. I get bored with stockinette. Maybe I'd try something slightly more interesting if I ever made them again.
Still, I was able to watch several seasons of Project Runway during the process. My husband finished beating Black Myth: Wukong on the same day I finished. He wanted me to tell you that. Both of us are proud but glad to move on.
