Yarn: KnitPicks CotLin in a million different colors
Pattern: Typical Tank by Tiffany Liew
Finished: June 24, 2026
Notes: This is a knockoff of a tank top by Rachel Antonoff that I liked. (It's here, if you're curious.) The top is on sale for $179, down from $248. In other words, a price I am never going to pay for a damn tank top. So I just made my own.
It's not perfect, but luckily I'm not a perfectionist. There are some minor mistakes in the ribbing. The hem is wonky. The embroidery sucked to do. You can't really tell from the photo, but there's fringe along the bottom of the umbrella. It sucked even more than the embroidery.
The fit of the Typical Tank is also not my favorite. The arm holes go a little low for my liking, so know that if you decide to make this. Maybe you'll be able to adjust it. Unfortunately, I'm too much of a knitting dumdum to make pattern alterations on the fly. (I only chose this because it was the only pattern I was able to find that uses DK yarn and had the general shape I was looking for.)
Overall, I'm happy with how this turned out. It'll definitely get a few wears from me this summer.
